Common errors and how to fix them
The resized image looks blurry- You've made it larger than the original. Images can't gain detail when enlarged — use the original size or smaller.
Transparent background turned white- JPG doesn't support transparency. Save as PNG or WebP to keep it.

Not if 'Keep aspect ratio' is ticked. Changing the width then updates the height automatically (and the other way round) so the proportions stay the same.
Making an image smaller in pixels usually makes the file much smaller too. For JPG and WebP you can also lower the quality slider. To shrink a file without changing its dimensions, use the Image Compressor.
Yes, up to 10,000 pixels on each side, but enlarging can't add detail that wasn't there, so the result may look soft or blurry.
