Markdown Editor FAQ

Markdown is a simple way to format text with plain characters: # for headings, **bold**, _italic_, - for lists and backticks for code. It's used for README files, documentation, GitHub, Reddit and many note-taking apps.

Yes. Tables, task lists (- [ ] and - [x]), fenced code blocks, strikethrough (~~text~~) and automatic links all work, matching how GitHub renders README files.

Write or paste your Markdown, switch the right panel to HTML, and click Copy HTML. The HTML is clean and ready to paste into a website or CMS.

Yes. The preview is sanitized with DOMPurify, which removes scripts and other unsafe HTML before anything is displayed or copied.

No. Nothing is stored or uploaded β€” if you close the tab, your text is gone. Copy your Markdown before leaving the page.

Separate columns with | and put a line of dashes under the header row, for example: | Name | Age | then | --- | --- | then | Ada | 36 |.
