Common errors and how to fix them

I can't find my city
Time zones are named after a major city in the region (e.g. Asia/Kolkata covers all of India, America/Chicago covers US Central). Search for that city or the region name.
A time is off by one hour
Check the date. Daylight saving changes on different dates in different countries, so the gap between two cities can change during the year.

Time Zone Converter FAQ

Set the date and time, choose the time zone it's in, and the same moment is shown in every time zone in the list. Add or remove zones to compare the cities you need.

Yes. It uses your browser's built-in time zone database, so offsets change automatically on the dates each country switches between standard and daylight saving time.

Coordinated Universal Time is the global reference time with no daylight saving. Servers, logs and APIs usually record times in UTC, and every time zone is described as an offset from it, such as UTC+05:30.

Several regions use half- or quarter-hour offsets β€” for example India (UTC+05:30), Nepal (UTC+05:45) and parts of Australia (UTC+09:30).

Enter a proposed time in your own zone, add your attendees' cities, and check that everyone's local time falls within working hours. The next day / previous day label shows when a date changes.

An offset like UTC-05:00 is fixed. A time zone like America/New_York is a region whose offset changes during the year (UTC-05:00 in winter, UTC-04:00 in summer). Use zone names to stay correct all year.
