Password Generator FAQ
Yes. Passwords are created in your browser with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), a cryptographically secure random source. They're never sent to a server, logged or stored.
Use at least 12–16 characters for everyday accounts and 20 or more for important ones like email, banking and password managers. Length adds more strength than complexity.
Bits of entropy measure how many guesses an attacker would need. Each extra bit doubles the work. Around 60 bits is strong for most accounts, and 80+ bits is very strong.
Characters like I, l, 1, O and 0 are easy to confuse when you have to read or type a password by hand. Excluding them makes passwords easier to copy without mistakes.
Yes. At least one character from each selected type is always included, so passwords meet rules like 'must contain a number and a symbol'.
No. Use a different password for every account and store them in a password manager, so one leaked password can't unlock your other accounts.
